Editorial Book Review:

By Luella D. Emerson

The story takes readers to a different world where real historical events happen along with high-stakes intrigue, secret societies, and forces that change history that can't be seen. Miller Harris is at the heart of it all. He has worked for many years right under the noses of American presidents and seen important decisions and events while knowing things most people can only dream of.  His job is to keep the President's Notebook, an enigmatic record that contains the most personal and lethal secrets of the rich and powerful. This isn't your typical job.

Miller’s journey is intertwined with a colorful cast of characters. There's Brooke and James, who find themselves caught up in perilous, romantic adventures as they navigate the treacherous waters of history’s undercurrents. Another important character, Margaret, battles between her moral beliefs and the hard reality of a society run under secret intrigues. In a world where existence is not certain, assassin Cotter and other fearless explorers become unusual heroes and villains. Each character’s story is deeply interwoven with the secrets hidden in the Notebook, as they race against time to either protect or reveal the truths that could change the world.

As the protagonists journey through important times in American history, readers are invited to consider the invisible hands that have shaped major events. The speculative element of time travel adds levels of mystery and complexity, resulting in a distinct narrative style that smoothly combines fact and fantasy. The Notebook, the focus of both noble and corrupt ambitions, serves as a striking emblem of the burden of knowledge and the cost of preserving—or exposing—truth.

This novel offers readers a captivating mix of suspense, romance, and historical reflection, all framed within an epic saga that leaves them wondering what lies beneath the surface of history as we know it.
